VOC Paving Project Important Information
Dear Villas of Carillon Residents,
Beginning March 1st, Villas of Carillon will begin the first stage in re-paving our wonderful neighborhood. The benefits of this project are significant; including remedies to cracked surfacing, leveling of low points where water continues to pool, increased home values, and a new surface for our residents to enjoy. Because of the scale of this project, it is important that every resident plans ahead for the many inconveniences that may occur during the project's duration.
The re-paving process occurs in two phases:
Milling, meaning the removal of the existing asphalt surface. Throughout this process there will be significant dust and it is likely that machinery will be moving past driveways and common areas at inconvenient times. While it is safe to drive on recently milled surfaces, we ask that you please plan ahead for unforeseen inconveniences.
Paving, meaning the application of hot tar followed by new asphalt. Because new asphalt takes anywhere from 12 to 24 hours to cure, there will be no access in or out of driveways for residences on recently paved roadways until cured. What does this mean? Vehicles must depart residences before paving begins at 8:00 A.M. on the scheduled day or must remain parked for the remainder of the day. Any vehicle returning in the evening before the surface has cured must find parking elsewhere in the community or in neighboring business parks. Please plan ahead.
To summarize, we ask that you utilize your garage space and/or driveways to keep cars out of the way of machinery and debris from the milling and paving process. This includes removing any vehicle belonging to you or a visitor from common areas ESPECIALLY during scheduled milling or paving times (listed below). ***If vehicles are left in common areas during the scheduled milling or paving process for that day, Management & Associates will have no choice but to tow vehicles out of the community.*** On paving days, consider that you will not have access to your street to leave or return while asphalt cures.
Like any major construction project, delays may occur due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. As a result, please understand that milling or paving might occur on a different day than originally scheduled. If changes to the schedule do occur, email communication will follow as soon as possible. We've asked Management and Associates to post flyers on garage doors the day before work is set to take place for affected residences.
