Villas of Carillon - Security Upgrades
Dear Residents,
Over the next several weeks, we will be performing repairs and upgrades to the main entry and exit gates, access control, and security systems.
IMPORTANT: Every resident is required to take action to ensure uninterrupted access to the community via the entry gate. Your 4-digit codes will be disabled and transponders will not work after these upgrades are complete.
Gate Repairs
The damaged gate and operator will be repaired and a new concrete base will be poured.
All four (4) main entry/exit gates will be removed and taken off-site to be sand-blasted and powder coated giving them a new finish.
Once completed, the gates will be reinstalled.
The system will undergo inspection and testing once the repairs and installation are completed.
Access Control
Visitors
The existing telephone entry system for visitors will be replaced with a new, multi-tenant access control system with remote administration capability.
The system will enable visitors to search a directory list via a touch screen display and automatically dial multiple numbers listed for a given residence allowing the first person person to pick up the call the ability to hear and see (photo only) the visitor before granting entry.
More information will be provided defining procedures for visitors in the coming weeks.
Residents
An RFID reader will be installed enabling "touchless" entry for resident vehicles.
All resident vehicles will be required to have an RFID tag installed in order to gain access to the community.
RFID Tags
RFID tags will replace the legacy system remotes, proximity cards and 4-digit access codes.
RFID tags will be the only means by which a resident can gain access to the property through the vehicle gate.
NOTE: ALL PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC WILL NEED TO USE THE PEDESTRIAN GATE AFTER THE UPGRADE IS COMPLETE.
Click on the link below to register your vehicle(s) and request your RFID tag(s). A separate request must be submitted for each vehicle.
RFID Tags will be disabled when residents (owners and/or tenants) move out.
Activation and deactivation is managed by the Property Manager.
The first RFID tag will be issued, at no cost, to the owner of the unit.
The cost for additional RFID tags will be billed to the owner of the vehicle.
RFID tags will not be issued to non-resident vehicles. All visitors (regardless of the frequency of their visits) must use the access control system.
More information will be provided defining procedures for visitors in the coming weeks.
NOTE: The initial batch of RFID tags will be delivered in time for the project completion but may take longer than 5 days from the date of your request as they will be mailed in bulk once all requests are received.
Security Cameras
New security cameras will be installed, monitoring the main entry and exit gates.
The new cameras will have license plate detection capability and allow for remote retrieval of video footage by the Property Manager in the event it is needed.
NOTE: The cameras monitoring the clubhouse will be replaced in 2023.
Project Timeline
We anticipate the repairs and upgrades to be completed within the next 4-6 weeks.
During this time, the gates will remain open.
Signs will be posted inside the property main entrance and south exit gates as well as by the Clubhouse (mailboxes).
You will receive additional email notifications, providing updates on the status and timing of the project.
