Villas of Carillon - Gate Update
Dear Residents,
A number of people who were not able to pick up their gate entry packets in person, still have not received them in the mail.
As such, we will be delaying the "go live date". We will reach out over the next week to provide an update on when we plan to "go live".
Here are some updates regarding commonly asked questions:
Where do I mount my RFID Tag?
Place your RFID tag according to the Installation Guidelines provided in your gate entry packet. They are also located here (www.villasofcarillon.com/vehicle-registration) .
The tag should be placed on the right (passenger) side of the vehicle.
Windshield tags are mounted inside the windshield. Headlight tags are mounted on the outside of the headlight.
Please be very careful when installing your tag, as the Association is not responsible for damaged or incorrectly installed tags.
How do I know if my tag is working before "go live"?
As you slowly approach the gate, look at the tag reader. Watch for the green light in the center to turn on. This will indicate that your tag is working.
The size of your vehicle and position of your tag may impact how you need to approach the gate. As you test your tag, pay attention to your speed and position of your vehicle.
NOTE: The green light may be difficult to see during the day when the sun is brightest. We recommend testing during the early morning or early evening.
If you are unable to see the green light after more than a few attempts, please contact tmartinez@mgmt-assoc.com.
How can I test Visitor Directory Calls and/or Temporary Invites (QR Codes) before "go live"?
The gates are on a hold open schedule until we go live. While the gates are held open, the entry system will allow users to test Directory Calls and Visitor QR codes, but it won't provide the visitor with feedback confirming that access has been granted.
Testing Visitor Directory Calls
If you want to test Visitor Directory Calls:
Press "Directory" from the Watchman entry system.
Select your name.
Your phone will either:
ring via the Cellgate app if you have it installed and are logged in.
ring as it normally would (incoming call will come from 972-231-1999)
Answer the call via the Cellgate app or via your phone depending on how you have configured your Call Groups or which type of call you're trying to test. You will be able to answer the call.
If you answer via the Cellgate app, you'll be able to see and hear yourself via the Watchman internal camera and microphone.
If answering from a regular cellular or land-line phone (not through the app), you'll only be able to hear yourself.
NOTE: if you're standing close to the Watchman gate entry system you will need to step away to avoid feedback between your cell phone and the Watchman system.
Again, you won't be able to confirm access is granted because the gates are held open. However, when the system goes live, your visitor would hear "Access Granted" when you push the green OPEN button (from the Cellgate app) or the * button from a normal phone call.
Testing Temporary Invites (QR Codes)
If you want to test Temporary Invites (QR Codes):
Create the Temporary Invite (from the Cellgate app) and share it with yourself via text message, email, etc.
Open the text message or email and open the link to their QR Code.
Scan the QR code at the Watchman system
If the system appears to do nothing, then the code worked.
If the system says "Invalid Code", then you likely created a code which is already expired or for some time in the future.
Again, you won't be able to confirm access is granted because the gates are held open. However, when the system goes live, your visitor would hear "Access Granted" when they scan a valid Temporary Visitor (QR) Code.
The Notice of Pedestrian Gate Access Code says to enter your access code followed by the # symbol. Is this correct?
No. There was a typo on our Notice of Pedestrian Gate Access Code templates.
To enter the pedestrian gate, type # followed by your 4-digit access code. The instructions are displayed correctly at the pedestrian gate entry system.
You can test this before "go live". This gate is also currently held open, but you will hear a tone (beep) if you enter your code correctly.
I'm having a problem adding another member of my household to my Call Group. I've invited them, but they cannot accept for some reason. What can I do to fix this?
We've learned that if two people in the same household have Cellgate accounts and wish to add each other to their Call Groups, that you will need to have an administrator take care of this. Contact tmartinez@mgmt-assoc.com and she will be able to help you fix your Call Groups.
Do you have any visual instructions to help step me through the process of answering a call, creating temporary invites ,etc?
Yes. For your convenience we've put together the Guide to Granting Visitor Access.
Sincerely,
Villas of Carillon Board of Directors
